Sunshine offers an academically demanding yet enjoyable senior curriculum that is critically evaluated every year and updated on the basis of developments of the external boards and as per the internal requirements of the school.

Students in Grades VI and VII follow a broad curriculum including the study of Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, English Language, English Literature, Bengali (or Hindi/Urdu), History, Geography, Art and Craft, Music, Moral Sciences, Computing and IT, Personal and Social Skills and Bangladesh Studies. A large part of the curriculum involves project and team work, as well as further development of their extracurricular skills and activities.

When a Sunshiner reaches Grade VIII, the student is allowed the choice of either selecting a Science or Commerce stream. There is a large degree of flexibility provided by the school, and students are welcome to combine subjects from either streams. Final selections of subjects and education board (Edexcel and Cambridge) are made after close consultation with parents and the student's wishes of career choice following their A Levels. It is compulsory for all students to study the core subjects of English Literature, English Language, Bengali (or Hindi/Urdu), Mathematics, Pure Mathematics and Bangladesh Studies. Students can select their choice of subjects from the following : Biology, Human Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Computing and IT, Commerce, Economics, Accounting, Statistics and Art and Design. At any one time, upto 12 O Levels can be studied by a student, following approval from the school Principal on the basis of academic ability. The minimum number of O Levels is six. These subjects are continued in Grades IX and X, at the end of which students sit for their final board exams under the supervision of the British Council.

On successful completion of the Ordinary Levels/ Secondary School Certificate, students are advised to study a minimum of four AS Level subjects, and following the completion of their AS Levels, continue with their three best A Level subjects. The AS/A Level subjects on offer are : Mathematics, Pure Mathematics, English Literature, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Accounting, Economics, Business Studies, Art & Design, Computer Science, Information Technology.

The school boasts modern, well equipped laboratories for Advanced Level Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Computer Science and Information Technology.
